USAEBO, Team USA and IEO

USAEBO
The two-round competition

Participants compete for awards across two individual rounds. Round 2 also serves as the selection stage for the US delegation.

Team USA
The US delegation

Five eligible students are selected through Round 2. They must be US citizens, US permanent residents, or students enrolled full-time in a US middle or high school.

IEO
International Economics Olympiad

Selected students represent the USA at IEO. The international event has its own syllabus and rules, so USAEBO preparation should use the materials for the relevant competition.

Awards and team selection are distinct

Entering USAEBO or receiving an award does not automatically secure a place on Team USA. Selection also requires the relevant citizenship, residency or US enrollment eligibility.
