Check eligibility first

Competition entry

USAEBO accepts participants of any nationality, aged 20 or younger on the first day of the international competition in that competition year. Round 1 has open registration and individual responses; qualifiers advance to Round 2.

Team USA has additional requirements

Team selection also requires US citizenship, permanent residency, or full-time attendance at a US middle or high school. Eligibility to enter USAEBO does not automatically establish eligibility for Team USA. Select your actual status on the form.

Registration details checklist

Prepare these details before completing the registration form. These are mainly form entries and electronic declarations; the list does not imply that each item requires a file upload.

Personal details

Name and date of birth
Use the student’s legal name; check the date of birth and consistent spelling across records.
Telephone and status
Provide a working telephone number and select your actual US status or school attendance option; do not select a category that does not apply.

School and both email addresses

School details
Prepare the school name, full address and country; check the spelling.
Personal non-school email + school email
Use a personal, non-school email for your portal identity and a school email to verify school affiliation. Check both addresses and confirm you can access them and receive messages.

Declarations and signatures

Student and parent or guardian
The participant and one parent or guardian must read the requirements and each provide an electronic signature.
Accuracy and payment terms
Verify the details before submission and read the accuracy, non-refundable fee and duplicate-payment terms.

Registration and payment

  1. Open the competition registration system

Check that you have selected the 2027 Round 1 registration form and follow the system’s account instructions using a personal, non-school email. Consultation buttons on this site open a QR code for enquiries; they do not submit a competition entry.

  2. Enter and review your details

Enter the personal, school, email and status details prepared above. Recheck your name, date of birth and email addresses before submitting, so spelling errors do not disrupt later notices.

  3. Read the terms and complete declarations

The student and one parent or guardian should each complete the required electronic signature and acknowledge the accuracy and payment terms.

  4. Complete payment and retain records

Follow the competition system’s instructions to pay the Round 1 fee and retain the transaction record. Fees are non-refundable, including duplicate payments. If charged without confirmation, check the status before paying again.

After payment, check registration status

Check the payment record, registration-system status and confirmation email together. A charge notification alone is not enough to determine whether registration is complete.

Check the system

Return to the registration system and check the status and any outstanding items. Follow its instructions if details or declarations still need attention.

Check confirmation email

Check the email used for registration, including its spam folder. Retain competition confirmations and later notices; if no email is found, compare with the system status.

Keep records and follow notices

Retain a copy of checked details, confirmation emails and payment records. Follow exam and technical-proctoring notices. Round 1 payment does not establish Round 2 qualification or its fee arrangements.

Charged but status unclear? Gather the payment time, transaction record and system message, then check with competition registration support. Avoid sharing full payment details publicly.

Registration questions

Can I enter without US status?

Competition entry and Team USA selection have different eligibility conditions. USAEBO accepts all nationalities. Answer the status question accurately and use the form’s “none of the above” option when none applies.

What if I cannot access my school email?

Check access and mail delivery with your school, then ask competition registration support which procedure applies. Do not use another person’s email or assume a personal email can replace the school email.

What if I notice an error after submitting?

First check whether the registration system offers an editing option. If it does not, gather the correction details and contact competition registration support. Do not make another payment just to correct information.

Does registration include automatic entry to Round 2?

No. Round 1 has open registration; Round 2 is for Round 1 qualifiers. Watch for qualification notices and follow the current season’s instructions.

What can a QR consultation help with?

A consultation can help organize details, explain the process and plan preparation. Registration status, corrections and payment confirmation must be checked through the competition system and its registration support.

Still unsure about details or the process? Ask a specific question.
